Aaron Judge continues to be as good as advertised in win vs. White Sox

Those expecting Aaron Judge to slow down this season may be in for a long wait because the young Yankees slugger was at it again during Wednesday’s 12-3 win against the White Sox.

Judge, a virtual lock for Rookie of the Year awards, launched his 27th home run of the year in the sixth inning. Judge’s power has been unmatched this season, as he also has 62 RBIs.

With the All-Star break looming, Judge is leading or tied for all three Triple Crown categories in the AL. His .333 average is surprising considering his still high strikeout rate (93 in 267 at-bats), but he’s walking a lot (53), and making great contact when he sees pitches he likes.

Cordero will be one of the more well-known and longest tenured players on this list. Making the All-Star game as a shortstop was a relatively high bar to clear (especially at this time in the National League). Cordero made his only ASG appearance in a 14-year career in 1994. Ozzie Smith and Barry Larkin were the other players at this position to make the team.

Cordero finished the first half with the highest batting average among NL shortstops (.306). In fact, he was likely having the best offensive season at that position. Cordero was hitting .306/.375/.519 with 13 HR, 48 RBIs, and 13 SB. He was one of five Expos players to represent the NL. This would be the best offensive season of Cordero’s career, but it’s worth noting that he did put together a few more solid seasons at the plate following this.

If we were going strictly by WAR, then Aledmys Diaz Cheap Soccer Jerseys would be the selection here. He made his first and only ASG appearance last season. However, there’s still plenty Cheap Team Baseball Jerseys of time left in his career for Diaz to overtake Cordero.
